shoutout to all the other ex-gifted & talented/honor student/straight a/senior editor/star student/99th percentile/once-creative burn-outs who have, since high school, realized they are truly miniscule fish in a giant, endless ocean, criticized themselves to the point of creative paralysis, and participated in so much self-sabotage they no longer see the point of doing anything at all because they’re just going to ruin it for themselves anyway

:)

Black Widow SNL Parody Trailer

Supergirl Tv Series

THIS IS A GODDAMN MESS

The difference is that this is who Supergirl IS. She was originally a teenage superhero, created to be a young female counterpart to Superman.

She was adopted, she went to high school, she hopped around jobs like a lot of young people do (including, yes, journalism like in the show and being a soap opera actor).

She dated a lot, and was basically a normal human being except for the saving people thing.

This IS Supergirl.

This is not Black Widow. Black Widow’s story is dark and frightening and intense. It’s about a tortured little girl turned into an assassin that did horrible things to stay alive. Her story is about redemption and breaking away from her past and dealing with monsters and fighting and wiping the red out.

This story line, done for Black Widow, would be a f*cking joke. But Black Widow isn’t Supergirl.

Let Supergirl be the superhero she is, and let Black Widow be the superhero she is. They don’t have to be the same. In fact, they shouldn’t be, because women deserve diversity too.

SLAM THAT REBLOG BUTTON!

OK, so I gotta say something. I haven’t been on tumblr in months since I’m working on my degree and college is literal hell, I mostly just lurk, and I came across this.

I would like to point out that all of what was said above is true. They are two completely different superheroes. But that is what makes them both so kick ass! They both show that there can be power in women, and that women can overcome obstacles. Natasha with her background, Supergirl with trying to fit in. They show complete opposite ends of the spectrum of bad ass that a woman can be in order to relate to different girls.

Let me tell you something, I don’t relate to Natasha Romanov. Which doesn’t mean I don’t like her. I just don’t relate to her. I relate to Kara Zor-El, and because of that I have been collecting her comic books since I was 12. The story of a girl who everyone considered weird and not natural trying to fit in, and the way she was able to handle her life gave me hope as a pre-teen. It’s something that I take pride in, that I collect Supergirl comics. People made fun of me for that, sure. Because it was Supergirl, and not Black Widow or Wonder Woman, or another more well known woman superhero.

These characters were created to reach out to different types of girls and women. You could be a Supergirl, like me. A Wonder Woman, like my mom. A Black Widow, like my sister. Or you could be your own superhero. But sometimes we need the diversity. It helps us feel normal. So not only are you taking that away from the character when you mock the way they are portrayed, but you’re taking that away from the girls who want to be like her as well

(also if anyone has seen the new Supergirl show, let me know how it is. I’m scared to watch because I don’t want to be let down)

So is this a software issue?

I really thought I was the only one! They need to fix this shit

YOOOO Yall too 😑. Coming from working in retail and for Apple.. This thing happens to a lot of people. Apple does this to have people think there’s something wrong with their phone so they’ll eventually spend unnecessary money to buy a new one.. Trust me. It’s all for their profit. iPhones can typically last about four years if you actually take care of it but Apple loves fucking with your software and shit..

it’s called planned obsolence
